A world away from the world - Geneva.

I have just settled into my new apartment in Geneva, where I'll be staying for 2 months whilst doing an internship at the World Health Organization. It's beautiful, the people are perfect; friendly and well-dressed, there is not a scrap of litter around, the streets are lined with chocolate and fancy watch stores and I've never felt safer. But I can't help but feel like this place doesn't seem real. The people have money poring out of their ears, their lives seem perfect, and there is no sign of a lower or middle class population. I put these thoughts to a banker I was chatting to in an OTT bar I went to last night, and his response was 'And what?...It works! Everyone is happy!'...hmm...I still wasn't satisfied. But then he proceeded to buy a 150 Swiss franc bottle of Bombay Sapphire to share with me so I forgot all about it.
I'm still trying to work it out, but for now I'll continue making new friends and soaking up the chocolate...oops I mean culture.
